Planning on doing this next May in a VW camper van with an electric hook up. Has anyone done this route before, if so, can you give me some nice campsites to stay en route, probably taking three days to get there and another three back, so's not to overheat the van and to see some of the surrounding area.
Could you please recommend places of interest en route. Coastal route or ove the hills.

The camper van does not have a hook up, just a van with two rings from a small gas bottle for cooking and a water tank for washing dishes.
First night the one at Beadnel, which does have all of the above in the shower rooms, inc wifi, but dont want to take lappy.
Second night possibly up tantallon, like I said, we are just trying out the water.
Next year we will be hiring the one with electric hook up, it wasnt available for my sons birthday!
I'm getting quite excited about it.
