with the state of the pound against the euro not a lot we have found Greece to be cheaper than Spain for drinks etc but flights / hotels are usually cheaper in Spain... if your not into partying then my choice would be Crete lots of history lots of things to do and see, and if you keep away from resort centers you can eat and drink with the locals reasonably cheaply [and better quality]
