I know that you can get a dolmus from Marmaris to Datca, and it takes about an hour, but does anyone know where in Marmaris you pick this up, and also whether they go & return frequently or is it just one or two a day? Also does anyone know whether it will be easy to find a room in a hotel in Datca for one night end of August, if we go on the off-chance?
Thanks in advance for any help!
You go to the lıttle coach shops behınd Tansas, buy your tıcket, then you wıll be dırected to the coach servıce area ( the old car park along same road). Thıs dolmus wıll take you to the maın otogar where you wıll be put on the Datca bus. I thınk they run every hour but the tımes are dısplayed on the boards outsıde the shops.
Don't know about hotels/ pensıons but ther ıs a tourıst centre ın Datca to put you ın the rıght dırectıon.
Hope thıs helps

Hi I have a home in Datca and sorry I don't rent it. However there are loads of pensions and hotels in Datca. If you pm me I'll send you a list of hotel phone numbers. Datca is never really busy not even in August. If you get stuck, go into any restaurant and ask them about rooms they'll all help you. Many of them also own pensions.
As for buses they are fantastic and run almost hourly to and from Marmaris all through the day. I think I'm right in saying it's about YTL7 each way. Journey through the mountains is stunning and Datca itself is paradise. If you spend the night there visit the harbour and eat there. The Titanic and the Beyaz Amca are my favourites and so cheap. However all the restaurants are good, I've never had a bad meal in any of them.
I hope you'll have a great time. Once visited you'll keep returning. I'm told that if the God's want someone to have a long and happy life they send him to Datca.
