Yeah, I guess it's all chance work... I remember last year my daughter and I were the last on and sat together without a problem, but I know this will not always be the case.

roseweb et al,

Re 2 passengers with 1 checked in case.

Just back from Spain and the Easyjet lady at Gatwick said that if you booked your flight, including paying for checkin luggage, before mid Oct 2010 you are allowed the 32kg allowance without penaallty, but if booked afterward this date it was the 20kgs without penalty.

We will put it to the test in less than weeks !

Mmm... I don't know what to do... My flights were booked on the 22nd Oct and does show 1 checked bag at 32kg. I really don't fancy getting to desk and being told I can only have 20kg then be slapped with a charge re excess. But the 32kg was what I paid for.

I wonder if I can contact them direct re clarity. Does anybody know where I would go to for info?

ruth,

Possibly (and from what you say ) maybe the easyjet lady wasnt too up-to-date on the exact date that the change was made and as I had made my booking much earlier in 2010 I didn't need to query this.

She did say that if when you had booked it showed 32kgs they would honour it - as you would expect !.

I guess a call too Easyjet would be the sensible option and hopefully you will be able to post more accurate details than I have been given.

The debate regarding this change was strarted around 22/23 Oct so maybe you are one of the last to have made a bookng to get the additional kgs free.

hello... how do you check if there are any changes to your flight?

it depends on when the flight is. To keep an eye on things some time off , use the Manage Booking (or MyEasyjet) option. You can also try the basic timetable option but that isn't always updated as quickly as it could be. For changes caused by events rather than planned (like weather) use the Flight Status option but that only works for about 1 day in advance.

Ruth go into your booking and take a screen shot of the page showing you have 32kg....that's what we've done and God help them if they try and tell us we haven't at check-in! I will be fit to be tied! :)

Hello all... Just looked at my booking to add SB. I think it works out at £19 extra for me and my daughter, which is not too bad. I was wondering and maybe my logic is all wrong. If you do the 'speedy check in' and then your off the plane first, through all checks etc... As your bag may have been one of firse on could it not be one of last off??? I was just curious re bag's as thinking just because your sat at front does not mean you can shoot off any sooner does it?

I have booked a private transfer as I am sure most have. In your experiences re SB are you still in the position where you are waiting with the 'masses' unless you have no luggage to collect??

Sorry for dim post, but I just wanted feedback prior to going ahead with booking the SB.

BAGGAGE = Yes mine does say 32kg in one checked in bag. Hopefully I will ba able to lift it... :rofl :rofl

Even though you maybe off the aircraft first, you'll probably have to wait with everone else until your baggage arrives. If it's the first off the aircraft, you're onto a winner. If it's one of the last, you've not gained anything. Even luggage marked 'priority' with other airlines for premium passengers doesn't always guarantee they are off the aircraft first.

Speedy boarding has no benefit alighting from the Plane, my experience of luggage shows that it is pot luck how quickly it comes through, we have two identical pieces of luggage and very rarely do they come through together, having checked our luggage in the night before one would imagine that they would be among the last unloaded but this has not been the case and I think that shape could play a part. :think

Thank you. You have both just confirmed what I thought. :cheers

I'm going to ditch the SB idea.

Now onto if I will 'need' extra luggage. It's not the weight allowance I need, it's the thought of lifting 32kg off the conveyor (SP?). All my towels, creams, day to day stuff is there. I'll need to carry a 5 year old's clothes and mine... Mmm... Could do with some weight lifting sessions at the gym I think... :rofl :rofl :rofl

I have just spoken to Easyjet and they confirm that any booking made (prior to Oct 2010 - didn't ask what date in October, sorry) that stated you can have 32kgs ie a booking of 2 passengers and 1 hold luggage will be honoured wih no extra charge being made.

I called them as I had received an email from them this morning and the hold luggage 'link' to their website showed the 20kg info etc.

I also queried the hand luggage size as the email showed a case 55x40x20. Last week, coming back from Spain with Easyjet the size was 56x45x25, thought it odd that the reduction in size happended so quickly !

He explained that 56x45x25 is correct, some emails have been sent showing the wrong hand luggage size, it depends on when you made the booking.

I have just received an email from Easyjet with a ref number regarding my call. I plan to take it to the airport next week - just in case !

well here we are in Tenerife .... sunny weather (well its dark as write this!). No issues with the 20kg+ checkin case. I was reminded by the checkin staff at Manchester that bookings made after Oct 2010 only allow 20kg free, ours was made in May2010/

Our case was a healthy 31.7kgs, we got the orange 'heavy' label !

I have booked a trip from Luton to Sharm, using Hays Travel. When I go onto the Easyjet website, I can't log in to enter API as the booking wasn't made by me.

Will handing my passport over at check cover this, or would it be better to ring Easyjet and give the information over the phone?

Does the A320 operate on EZY2397? If so, with regards to the extra leg room seats, are they facing each other, or facing the front as standard? (I remember once being on a flight 20 or so years ago, and the emergency exit seats were facing each other.)

Do any of the Easyjet planes still have the old GB Airways IFE, or was that only applicable to Gatwick flights?

Never flown Easyjet before, so new to me, but the option of flying from Luton on a Saturday was too good to pass up.

Mobor One,

You'll need to speak to your travel agent about API. You don't say when you're travelling, but flights to SSH are normally covered by A320's. They have some new A320's as well as the ex GB's in their fleet with IFE that cover these flights. Seats are facing foward, you're probably thinking of the old Tridents with some rear facing seats (you're back back to the good old days now!).
