I am trying to get some insurance through Easyjet for my parents to Turkey but the only options seem to be UK or EU. They have used Easyjet insurance to Turkey before but I wondered if maybe they only do EU.

Only part of Turkey is actually in Europe, and the other part is in Asia!! Would payment by a 'Gold Card' credit card help to provide medical cover? Otherwise EuropAssistance - despite Turkey not being fully in Europe!!! - or Allianz might offer suitable cover depending also on what aspect of insurance you are hoping to get cover for. Hope you find a suitable solution to your problem.
Turkey is normally classed as Europe for insurance purposes but as it isn't in the EU I wasn't sure what to do. I can find plenty of other insurance to Turkey but Easyjet was coming up the cheapest last year when they wenr so they wanted to book again.

Credit card issuers and most insurers take the Eurovision/UEFA view of Europe and include Turkey (and often Israel). Interesting point about card/bank account inclusive insurance - theoretically (but unlikely) you could have a card that includes Turkey for spending but not insurance.
if the Easyjet form actually says EU I'd assume that's an abbreviation for EUrope not initials of European Union - the insurers always include non-Union European countries in European policies.

Thank you, I would imagine it was europe too otherwise they would have to discount other countries which were in Europe but not in the EU. I will wait to see what they say and post the answer on here in case anyone else comes up with this.

I'm just wondering on their Speedy Boarding process? Has anyone recently used it?
Do you get given a different coloured boarding pass so the staff know you ''are'' a speedy boarder?

Your boarding pass shows a specific code that shows you've booked speedy boarding.
speedy Boarders, thanks for that, reading posts from a while back some say people still pushed through. So if they call the speedy ones first, they actually check the boading card?

On the boarding cards for speedy boarding it has SB on them, the same if you have done online checkin. I pay for it as I like to look out the window and this gives me a chance to get a seat with a window at the right angle so you are not breaking your neck to see and on the right side of the plane so I am not looking at the sun.
Be careful though. Before you book SB check if the airport your flying from uses a bus to ship passengers to the plane. If this is the case you may not be all speedy boarders on the bus as they will want to fill it up.

Last week at Budapest I followed the SBs onto the bus and got onto the plane before them. And at the checkin the SB/Online checkin bag drop queue had about 25 people waiting whereas the line I used only had 5 so I got through quicker.
But at Gatwick on the way out there was actually an SB holding pen in the lounge to make sure they got through first and since it was an airbridge there they did get on first. Gatwick was well organised, they check boarding cards before you go to the waiting area so they save time when the plane is ready. At most airports they wait until the door opens and then have the confusion of turning round those who are in the wrong line.

Thanks Shirley and steve, it depends if it's well organised, otherwise might as well keep the £20 for ourselves! Just used Jet2 and they had excellent pre-book your seat at £5.99!

ah but last week I had the choice of Jet2 or easyjet, chose EZ and got back on time, Jet2 were expected 3 hours late and it would have cost me £70 taxi after last train had gone!
i have used easyjet a few times as a family and with friends ive never booked speedy boarding or pre booked seats been going for 9 years abroad and never been seperated i just find its plenty of money to fly without paying the extra, saying that we are going to turkey in 5 weeks and our little girl is 3 and i think they ask for family who have children under 5 to go after the speedy boarders, but we always go with the flow and never rush.
I've recently read about the issues with SB at certain airports and have to say I'm a bit concerned. We're flying from Liverpool on Saturday and bought SB because I have walking problems and will probably be using two walking sticks, so getting through a plane in a scrum isn't easy!
I would suggest that when you go to the gate and you see staff getting ready to make the boarding calls, you go and show them your boarding pass and explain your situation. They will perhaps let you have a bit more time to board, but there are seats set aside - normally 2nd or 3rd row on RHS of plane - for those with walking problems. You might ask them very very nicely if they could inform the cabin crew of your walking problem and ask them to keep this row free for you and your party. Then you don't need to dash. It will mean entering the aircraft by the front steps.

They don't say "we sold 20 SBs and only 18 have gone so we'll hold everyone else until the other 2 come out of the shop". Once the initial priority queue has gone they let everyone else through immediately afterwards - if you'd bought SB and then were 2 minutes late for the call that's tough!

So if you aren't very mobile you will get caught in the rush. In this case do what Alsacienne says and get them to hold those seats - then you can let the mob go first and follow along.
