BA are getting their hands on former GB/EZY Airbus A320's.

I think at least 2 are with BA now.

Nivsy

I hope they still have some for when I go to Dalaman in September.

Easyjet have also received some new A320's so I wouldn't worry.

Will these have the IFE installed as the ex-GB aircraft did?

I know they had it intalled but they didnt sell earphones for it on our flight in December, and from what I saw it looked like they were playing very old Mr Bean series, so not really worth watching.

The A321's have the new Rockwell Collins' dPAVES (IFE) system installed.

Hi there. I am flying with easyjet for the first time in August and am a bit worried about it. I am going from Gatwick to Hurghada and wondered if there would be any inflight entertainment as some say there is and some say there isnt. I also wondered about this speedy boarding. I have already booked my flights and wondered if I could upgrade to this afterwards and if it was worth doing this. If I dont do this am I likely to get sat next to my husband? Are food and drink available to buy on board? Sorry for all the questions.

Easyjet does not offer IFE - inflight entertainment - except on flights that are made on aircraft bought from another company that had IFE fitted. You might like to contact Dazbo or Nivsy via this board to ask specifically about your flight including your days of travel, flight times and flight numbers. They are invaluable in this regard.

I also wondered about this speedy boarding. I have already booked my flights and wondered if I could upgrade to this afterwards and if it was worth doing this. If I dont do this am I likely to get sat next to my husband?

The speedy boarders get to the plane (or to the coach taking you to the plane) first. They then get the first choice of seats on board. Staff are getting strict about one member of a party buying speedy booking and then reserving seats for the rest of the party, so this is not a very sociable thing to do.

I would think that there would be no problem for you and your husband to be sat together without paying speedy boarding, but it would be in your interest to check in as early as possible for the flight - the desks open 2 hours before departure - so that you can be included in the fastest boarding group (A) after the speedy boarding and special assistance groups.

Are food and drink available to buy on board?

Yes, and when the plane is well-stocked there is a good variety to choose from. Unfortunately if demand for food is heavy on the flights in the day before yours, you may have only a very limited choice and sometimes unfortunately there is no food available. You might like to buy snacks in the form of sandwiches, crisps, fruit, sushi etc and drinks AIRSIDE so that you will be self-sufficient and without any problems of liquids and containers which exist when you go from landside to airside (security control point).

Have a lovely time!

mrsgosling3,

Are you on the EZY8857/8? If so, it's operated by one of the former GB Airways / new Airbus A321-200's so it'll have IFE. Easyjet don't have IFE installed in the majority of their aircraft; only on those operating longer flights.

Hi,
I've noticed that the winter flights from Manchester to Tenerife are already on sale.

Does anyone have any idea when Gatwick to Tenerife will go on sale?

Thanks

i was quite disappointed when we paid for speedy boarding last time to turkey, as they let us on the coach first so we sat down and then to my surprise they allowed all other passengers that hadnt paid for speedy boarding on the same coach, crammed in so loads standing grr, so because we were sitting we actually ended up getting on the plane nearly last, what a waste of money it was on this occasion :duh
i know ive just booked some flights to turkey with my easy jet cc and still i got charged about £15 which i thought was bad considering it was their card , think its around 2% , only agreed to have this card as i was told i would get points to get cash off easy jet flights and no charges :que , so the deal isnt as good as it seems, if you add on all charges you get using it grrrr. they also charge for debit cards although not as much, think for mine it was around £5

I also have a visa electron account and also have a premier account with another bank. I just put a little in my visa electron account to keep it open then when I want to pay for flights I put enough in to cover the cost, as Visa Electron incurs no charges when booking flights I don't pay any extra.

Hi,

If my holiday departure date is in the summer season and my return in the winter season, I can book my outward journey first and pay in pounds.
When the winter season is released, it appears for a single journey from Spain ,that I will have to pay in euros. Can someone please confirm this or can I change something so I can pay in pounds?.
Thanks

JeanM,

You can book anyway you like!! With Easyjet, you are, in effect purchising two single flights rather than a return trip. So it's just as easy to purchase two single flights at the same time as it is one now, and when later. If you are booking a single flight from europe back to the UK, I do beleive it will be charged in euros and you can't change this.
