We would like to know the answer to the above too, as we are considering going there this year. However, we are torn between this resort and the Excellence in Punta Cana ...... decisions, decisions!

Been to Excellence Playa Mujeres a couple of times and it is a fantastic hotel. Just look on tripadvisor. I have a couple of reviews on there.
It is everything we hoped it would be and more.
The rooms are fantastic, the food, service is superb. Add to that the choice of dining options avaliable it was never boring when it came to meal time.
The only thing that might bother some people is the fact there is no buffets in the evening as it is all ala carte dining. I personally loved this.
I can't recommend the hotel highly enough.
As for Excellence Punta cana I cant comment as I haven't been. But we spoke to many people who have been and loved it. But most said that EPM is a notch above.
