Can anyone advise me of any reasonable way to get to Benidorm in October for five people, from the North West?
All the so-called budget ailines seem to be charging between £150 to £200 for a return flight. I don't need accomodation but this seems very expensive. I looked at the ferry but this was £800!

Hi Goodtimes ... it's possible your dates may be clashing with some of the UK mid term breaks, which tend to bump up air fares. Have you only checked flights to Alicante ? There may be other cheaper alternatives, such as Ryanair's Liverpool/Murcia service (assuming you mean NW England).

Can strongly recommend Jet2's hotel booking (saved us a packet in Madrid)
The budget airlines can be pricey if you don't book early enough, premium space and dates. Be flexible if you can. As David says though, you may have hit a half term, its around the right date
