I think most banks will transfer amoney abroad, the transfer system is called Worldpay at HSBC and I assume other banks will have similar systems (I other names include SWIFT or IBAN?). I once paid a foreign deposit this way, it involved filling in a form at the branch and cost £9. I've also used Western Union money transfer for a deposit for Croatia, this can be done online.
