Hi all, me and my boyfriend are thinking of going for a holiday in June, and we've been thinking of trying for a baby so by that time i could still be in my 1st trimester. we're between 21-23yrs old, we're not interested so much in bars or nightclubs. I wondered what people had as suggetions for what todo during on holiday? Iv thought of so far, cycling easy, swimming, walking, sightseeing.
Also i would like ideas on where to go which destinations what resorts etc.
thanks
you can always book a nice deserted island in the maldives and keep trying for that baby
Without wishing to sound too pessimistic, I think you should only book somewhere where you would feel confident about hospital standards, such as Spain. Miscarriage is very common in a first pregnancy and usually requires a brief stay in hospital with a small operation under general anaesthetic.
Why not go on holiday and start 'trying' then. June's not far away and not wishing to put you off but you can feel pretty rotten during the first trimester of your pregnancy and may end up not wanting to do any of the things you've listed. On the other hand you might be fine, but I think I'd wait if I were you.
Good Luck whatever you decide.

One word of warning - Insurance!
Read the small print before you plan anything, especially if you haven't bought it yet. You ought to be covered up to about 24 weeks but it could get dodgy/expensive if you take the insurance out after pregnancy has been confirmed. And it would be a very bad idea to go without it!
As for ideas, cycling/walking/swimming/sightseeing plus not oppressively hot and decent medical facilities never more than a few miles away - how about Bavaria ? (No-one mentioned a beach..)

You may not actually feel like travelling in your first trimester as you may suffer from morning sickness..my recommendation would be to delay the pregnancy just long enough to actually go on holiday and get the practice in there!
Looks like quite a few other poster are thinking the same..

All I can say is 'don't go up Mount Etna'!! I didn't realise I was 18 weeks' pregnant (being a big bird anyway) and the baby took all the oxygen so I couldn't breathe! I was SO scared!
Seriously though, make sure that you have all the necessary insurance cover, and look after yourself ... no raw eggs (so does that mean no mayonnaise?) and unpasteurised cheeses ........ and a clean bathroom in case you have to spend more time in there than you might have anticipated!!
All the best to you and your hubby!

hi, gotta ditto the replies about travelling when you are in your first 3 months of pregnancy, if you are unlucky enough to get morning ( noon and night ! ) sickness, then you really will just want to be at home, so, I too second the suggestion of baby making on your hols ! ( we concieved our daughter on our wedding night in havana after 5 years of trying ! ) go for it !
have a great time,

I have to agree with the above, It may be best to wait until you go on holiday to start trying
You will probably feel so sick and tired in the first trimester that you wont enjoy your holiday anyway.
Good luck

In my first trimester with both of my kids I couldn't eat anything other than sandwiches and crisps, and I was so tired I was almost narcoleptic. Add to that the constant worry of possible miscarriage (more common than most people think) I certainly wouldn't have wanted to travel, even nipping to the shops was a huge effort for me during those first few weeks.
I went on holiday when I was 5 weeks pregnant with my eldest, having booked to go away with a friend before I knew. For 1 with all those hormones raging I missed my husband like crazy and also I was so worried about the food- undercooked eggs, soft cheeses etc are all a minefield when pregnant. For what it's worth I would agree with the others, book your holiday and try when you are away- we still joke with our youngest that her middle name could have been Ibiza!!
Good luck

Go on holiday and enjoy yourselves. IMO you're too young to be thinking about babies!
Hi, I have been on holiday twice whilst pregnant. 1st time I was a few weeks pregnant with my eldest and felt fine (if not a little fat!!) and the 2nd time I was 5 and half months gone with my youngest and we went to tenerife PLA. I had a rotton time, my legs ached, I felt ill, I felt boring and I felt fat again!!
