They used to hire them in the bellevue lagoon (that was a couple of years ago) but I have never seen them in the sea.

Taffeeeee. I don't know of anyone specifically hiring jet skis. They do come as part of packages with boat excursion operators, but I'm not sure how this is operating this year. There are always new rules that make it tough for businesses wanting to do this. The jet skis on the lagoon that Biff mentions don't now operate - too much noise!! The ones you see on the sea, and there are some, are either from an excursion operator or the civil protection service which uses them for beach monitoring.
