Hiya
I'm thinking of going to Tenerife in the Oct school hols (20th) for a week s/c. Two 40 somethings, two 16 yr olds and two 14 yr olds. Looking to stay in Los Gigantes, Poblado Marinero apts.
Don't want the kids to be bored or have to travel too far for 'teenage' entertainment. Anyone been who could give me some idea about what is in the area?
Thanks
Mer
I have been to Los Gigantes several times for meals but never actually stayed there as we were under the impression it was for 'the more older clientel' Hopefully someone will come on and post that I am totally wrong
I should be Jackie Tenerife now that I have moved here. My name is from when we began to prepare for the move.
Hope I am wrong, teenagers love a moan when their bored

I've been for the day on many occassions, but to be perfectly honest it doesnt strike me has a resort for 16yr olds. They will be bored after day one, i suggest you look at Los Cristianos, much more going on and much more suitable for all of you. I am sure Jackie would'nt disagree with this.
If you wish you could try sending me a message and i will put you in contact with someone who rents there.

MMn, I tend to agree that evenings maybe be a little boring in Los Gigs.
There is the Highland Paddy bars which are quite entertaining and also the Green Corner. But I tend to agree that maybe Los Cristianos is more entertaining for this age group
I hope you get sorted

One holiday in Tenerife hardly makes me an expert but we stayed last October in Puerto Santiago and most days wandered along the coastal path to Los Gigantes, either for lunch or dinner. It struck us as being quite sedate which suits us, being in our 50's. Apart from a large number of restaurants and bars, we didn't find anything much else in the way of entertainment. There's a nice (if small) beach and a lido near the harbour. We thoroughly enjoyed it but not sure if teenagers would be as appreciative.
Los Gigantes is a beautiful place...but certainly not for teenagers...but it is worth a visit..you will have that constant."I am bored"..I would say Christianos...or Americas..far more lively especially for teenagers..enjoy your holiday.
Thanks everyone
You've helped me make up my mind. It's a NO to Los Gigantes!! Bored teenagers is something to be avoided at all costs on holiday. I got the details from a travel agents and they said that there was enough to keep them entertained -they'll say anything for a sale.
clarets4ever, I'm really keen to hear about private renting in Los Cristianos. Sending you a pm.

As mer is now going elsewhere I'll lock this topic.
If Mer has any questions regarding Los Cristianos a new topic can be started.
