Menorca brings Balearic island life to UK

Menorca is to kick off a marketing assault on the UK public with the launch of a roadshow starting at the end of February.

The Menorca - Warm At Heart campaign will see tourism workers and island hoteliers travelling with a specially designed bus to a raft of UK cities including London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Bristol.

This is the first time that the Menorca Tourist Board has carried out such a campaign, with the aim of enticing new and repeat customers. It will focus on showing the public how diverse the island's offering is.

Menorca minister for tourism Lazaro Criado said that the campaign will show that there is more to the island than its pretty beaches, with horse riding, kayaking, cycling, hiking and walking all on offer.

He said: "The holiday destination is already well known and popular with the family market but we also think the island offers a magical romantic setting for couples as well as exhilarating thrills for the adventurous or young at heart to experience.

"This will be showcased through performances, tastings, crowd participation activities and prizes give-aways including a daily holiday for two to Menorca. In each city booking facilities will also be available on the bus so people can take advantage of fantastic deals then and there."
