I can't say when the flights start but there is always the option of going through Mumbai. We are going October and flying back through there.

Thanks for your welcome message and reply Fiona. We don't really want to go via Bombay - don't think we are brave enough
but for some reason I thought that one of the charters starts in October however I may be mistaken
We usually go in March but I don't think I can wait til then and fancied getting out there on one of the first flights if poss.

The chartered flights are starting around Nov 3rd
Thanks for that info tightjock - so i'll just have to wait a couple more weeks than I anticipated
but a whole lot better than waiting til March
Hi Fizzy2,
Monarch flights start from 13th October 2007 from both Gatwick and Manchester.
Hope this helps........now all you have to do is get booked up.

Hi again Fizzy2,
You can have a look at prices on Jewel in the crown website - their brochure for Winter 2007/08 is on there.

Thanks for your "Oops" response tightjock! Monarch wouldn't have been my first thought either or should I say "first choice"
To everyone who responded, I am still mulling it over. As I have not been to Goa on a first flight out before i am wondering how booked up it is given that Goa isn't really up and running at full throttle in October. Thinking maybe to book the time off from work early before someone else nabs those weeks and then waiting until the late offers start popping up - any thoughts would be appreciated as I don't want to risk not getting a seat (even if it is on a Monarch).
Just to add too that I am glad i am not the only "Goa Anorak" on the planet
Been reading HT for a couple of years now and feel like I know many of you.

OH has changed the game plan - now going package for 2 weeks in November instead of 3 weeks DIY due to his business commitments.
Still need advice though - please read new topic posted as a bit confused (nothing new there then)
Thanks
