ANy advice on whether this hotel is okay? Just two adults travelling - previously stayed Silver Sands at Candolim and enjoyed that.
Not sure whether Calengute will be too busy for us?
All help appreciated

We have stayed here about 6 times, it is OK but nothing special. Try and make sure you get a pool view room as the others are very noisy. It is a typical 2*, rooms are large and clean but a bit tired. Last year we decided that it would be our last at the Park Avenue as we got wound up with the waiters having their favourites and almost ignoring others. Breakfast is the basic tea and toast with florecant jam. It is in a decent location close to the beach and town.
Prepare for basic and you wont be dissapointed.

We have just booked again for Park Avenue, which will make this our 4th time at this hotel. It is in a good location at the end of Baga Road near Infantaria bakery.
Bar prices are good and the food is decent. They have a karoake night on mondays and a band/dance night on (I think) Fridays.
I agree with what Helen says, it is about the right standard for a 2 star hotel. I think the people who have stopped there and complained probably don't know what to expect for an Indian 2 star hotel. Please note, the POOL IS CLEANED everyday and the grounds are kept clean and tidy.
Rooms are cleaned everyday with fresh bedding and towels everyday. There is a fridge in each room which can you can buy water, beer and pop from. This is all at reasonable prices too. You just pay the room boy each day for whatever you use. You can hire a safety deposit box, and the old security guard is a sweatheart.
The Tandoori oven is lighted every night and you can get a good selection of Tandoored food, or select from the menu, which includes specials everyday.
There is also a beauty salon at the end of the pool where you can have a massage, pedicure etc.
If you turn left out of the hotel you can walk up baga road. If you turn right you reach head into busy calangute, near the road which leads down to the steps on calangute beach. Round the corner you get to the bus stop to Panjim/Apora/Mapsa and Candolim.
All in all a decent , reasonably priced hotel, good location... and you get what you pay for. If you want top notch then pay and go to the Leela Palace.
