Hi Bobby,Cant comment on the hotel but was on Ferrera beach on Thursday, really nice bay with a good beach bar at the side.
It is on the edge of the Cala D'or area but still only a 10 min walk to the main square or a 30 min walk to the marina.
Nearest market is in Santanyi on Wednesday and Saturday 9am to 1pm only, a good mix of local fruit and veg along with the usual Africans selling everything from sunglasses and watches to all sorts of clothes and jewlery. There is a bigger market at Felanix on a sunday morning about a 20 min drive from you but it all sells the same stuff but more sellers.
You can get the glass bottom boat from the beach side to various places around the coast. Its a nice area and we have stopped at the Ponnent playa hotel many times in past years and enjoyed it.

Thanks for that Steve, we are really looking forward to going, as it is an area I have always wanted to go to. Just have to hope the Hotel is not as bad as some of the reviews I have read, will just use it a base if it is.
