Weather is usually still good in October although it is going to be a little cooler and sometimes you might get a dull day....

As for food... Well I've eaten for next to nothing in other countries which is what people call "cheap"... however I've paid £10 a head in a country pub in England... so paying Cy£6-8 for a decent (and many places serve fantastic meals, not just good ones) isn't "expensive"... its just not "cheap"...

Ps you could go to some places and get things a bit "cheaper" (we did find some more day to day places that did very good food at a slightly lesser price for general meals during the day etc...) We then went to the "better" ones for evening meals.. (and I also did a bit of cooking in the self catering room for next to nothing)..
