Helen, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I was going to use the sae salt or brown sugar and
olive oil but it my sister-in-law that put me off by mentioning the lethally slippery bath.
So today I have been to Home Bargains (love that place!) and on the recommendation of Rachie B
(Thanks Rachie!
) I have bought the Inecto Pure Coconut Oil Exfoliating Leg and Body Scrub
for £1.99

Surely it's easier to do it in the shower? Shouldn't have any slippery problems that way unless you are doing the soles of your feet.
I, like my sister-in- law use the shower (over the bath) to exfoliate.
But she said the bath is deadly slippery when she gets out after using brown sugar and olive oil.
That's what put me off - can't break any bones BEFORE my hols!
(Talking about feet - think it'll do any good for my dry heels?
)

Forget the olive oil - just use the brown sugar or coarse sea salt mixed in with a dollop of your usual shower creme. I find Dove the best and there's less chance of accidents. It's not the oil which makes the difference but the abrasive action of the sugar or salt. And it will rinse of fyour skin so much quicker and easier. And in fact using lemon juice instead is a brilliant way of removing stains and ingrained dirt in 'gardening' hands.
I've now got rid of them but I had a particular pair of shoes that no matter what I did to them - even only wearing them with thick tights made no difference - stained my feet black if they got at all hot and/or damp. The net effect was to make my feet look filthy whenever I took them off but the brown suger and lemon juice in the shower always did the trick!

Oh right - got a shower mat an' all!
Never mind, I've bought the other stuff now and it was certainly cheap enough so
I'll give that a go now.
Thanks everyone!

Can you make a reasonable size batch of that Olive oil & sugar at one time, and store it in an airtight tub, or is it best to make it fresh each time?

Hi Helen T. Just read your question. The best exfoliator I've ever used is Sanctuary, I get it from Boots. It leaves your skin feeling lovely and soft. Finish off with johnsons 24 hour moisturiser. Your skin will feel fantastic.
