I haven't had a holiday song in a long while but I still remember certain ones which bring back memories.
Papa Don't Preach by Madonna takes me back to Ibiza 1986 aged just 15
I Really Didn't Mean It by Luther Vandross is Mallorca 1987
Englishman in New York by Sting for Turkey 1988
Voodoo Ray by A Guy Called Gerald for Salou 1989
Red Red Wine by UB40 for Rhodes 1990
Big gaps then!
Saturday Night by Wigfield for Dom Republic 1995
Wannabee by Spice Girls for Corfu 1996
Sex Bomb by Tom Jones for Ios/Santorini/Paros in 1999
Prince Charming by Adam and the Ants for gulet trip, Turkey in 2004 (lol, don't ask!)
And that's about all that springs to mind!

Juanes - La Camisa Negra.... quality

Just come back from Crete and our hotel's "song" was "Big Fish Little Fish" which I haven't heard before - it goes something like: "big fish, little fish, cardboard box..." (with actions, of course...) and then the second verse is "stack the shelves, shopping trolley..." and then "yo-yo, row your boat..." We also had the First Choice exclusive version of "Mimic Man" - the one with Little Britain, Joe Pasquale, Simon Cowell etc

A number of songs kept being repeated around our pool in Crete. Of which my favourite was not sure of the title but the words went ".....singing sweet home Alabahma, all Summer long"

My eldest did tell me the title but I've forgotten. My youngest's going to put our pics on a DVD and that's one of the background songs that'll be on it.

Shirley H, Sweet home Alabamha, is by Kid Rock. It's in the UK charts at the moment. Very catchy tune. I like it.

Thanks for that Denny. Also going to have James Blunts' "I really want you" on the DVD - another one I associate with my holiday
