Found a lovely apartment in the centre of Carvoeiro overlooking the square and beach. Great price and heating too!!
A bit concerned it might be dead in the winter. We were in Olhos at the Porto Bay Falesia in January which was very quiet. It doesn't particularly bother us as we do like peace and quiet but don't want it to be totally dead and shut!!

I am no expert on Carvoeiro Pippa, and if anyone knows better please say so, but I would imagine it would be very very quiet I am afraid.
Perhaps we would be better considering a larger resort? Don't particularly like Albufeira but would consider Vilamoura, Lagos etc.
I also think we may be better with a hotel - with the euro/sterling the way it is at the moment it may not work out any more expensive anyway - particularly if the hotel is booked on a half board basis.
