We love Petra in Lesbos as it offers a GREEK holiday with very little British influence. We are looking at other Greek Islands but are struggling to find somewhere to go. We like beaches and a bit going on, we love to get a car and explore what the Islands have to offer.
Any suggestion would be welcome. We are looking to travel at the end of July.
many thanks
Lesvos is somewhat untouristy for an island with an airport and direct flights from the UK (amongst others). Kefalonia might be worth a look at similarly. If you're prepared to get a car you can get around fine on an island that's not that easy to explore solely by public transport.
I'd also investigate West/South Crete if you don't mind a little more heat, as the island's more southerly.

Lesvos is quite unique for an island with an international airport and its a favourite of ours too. If you're happy to rent a car dont rule out the Peloponnese (technically an island) with a direct flight to Kalamata or the Pelion. These are both unspoilt areas without the Brits abroad influence that spoils some Greek destinations.
