What area are you thinking about John, north or south Goa ?
Luisa by the sea is a nice set up in Cavelossim but it is far too quiet for us and after a few days the place does my head in but holiday homes in Goa have some nice places around the Colva area which we can tolerate as it has much more life, in fact we very nearly like Betalbatim but still prefer the more lively north http://www.holidayhomesingoa.com/

A friend of mine here in Turkey mentioned about spending 6 weeks in India and I said I may pop over too
So then someone else said the same
It doesn't have to be a villa but we want secure surroundings with internet (a must) close to the beach and one of the party have been Goa/Candolim so that area really
Dates I got wrong I think but are from January 15ish for about 6 weeks

Hi John
Regal Park is a nice development in a good location in Candolim but most of the apartments are 2 bedroom so you would need more than one. Lots of owners advertise on http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk and http://www.holiday-rentals.com. You should also find some larger properties advertised on these sites.
Jan and Feb tend to be very busy and I know there were one or two people struggling to find somewhere nice for Feb this year so I would suggest you book as soon as you find somewhere you like.
Good luck.

I think that the main problem with me is that I haven't got a clue where to stay at all though I did read the forum for a few hours last night
Prices for food and drinks look great but its the actual location I cant decide on so some pointers would be appreciated

As first timers you won't find any better than Candolim or Baga but Baga will be far too busy in January and four bedrooms villas are in very limited supply, as are places on the beach but have a look at this place if you have a large budget or you could book four appartments at the Highlands or simular http://www.rentalsystems.com/AdvertAvailability.aspx?ref=86340&rag=63792Z&rcam=ownerweb
This thread interests me and my wife as well. We are thinking along the same lines- 4 to 6 weeks in Goa. We want the South though. We just want a nice one bedroomed place in or around Colva area or thereabouts.
Maybe there are cheaper guest houses, I don't know. If anyone has stayed like that in Comva area or could offer me some help or advice would be appreciated. Good luck to John in finding a place as well.
Oh yea, nearly forgot-- will be late Feb onwards. For my wife's 60th burpday and my 66th!! Thanks everyone in advance!

Have a look on holiday homes in Goa site, they only have place's around Colva on their books, this one looks OK for around £300 a month but it is not very close to the beach....http://www.holidayhomesingoa.com/Empress-Emma.html
Hope you have a great Birthday party, we did the same numbers last year, the only sad thing is the wife still has to wait another year to get her state pension

might be worth a look. I have internet WIFI but not sure if she does.

You need to book pretty quick ..I have already booked my apartment for 3 weeks I did this when I came back in Feb becasue last year I lleft it until October to find somewhere and found some where awful and lost my money after I had to move out.
I have just found this place. One bedroomed "penthouse" apparently. Anyway looks nice and is £265 a week next March and I think I can get 10% discount if staying 3 weeks or more , which we want to do.

Any regular like to comment on this place and let me know what you think etc. Its very close to Varca beach. I don't know beaches by name but I am sure I have walked along many years ago when we were at Colva.
Any tips and advice would be so much appreeciated as we need to act pretty promptly now.
have seen QATAR flights around the time we want to go for £550 each which seems pretty reasonable to me. Was going to go via Bombay BUT i have done that a few times before and always had hassles galore.
Thanks,
Pete
