Thrifty car hire

Hi thanks Glynis ,i have read that too.
But does this just mean they have an office at the airport?
I might have to give them a call.
The reason i ask is because some hire companies are off site,
And i have read about people having to wait ages for the minibus transport.
Btw its one of only a few companies that do full/full on the fuel, that's why i want to book with them.
I dont want to be ripped off with the fuel surcharge!

Cheers

Hi, it does say on that link that 'you can always rent a car from the counter at any of our locations' etc, so I would take that as they are on site.

Ps. Have just checked Alicante airport website & they aren't listed :que

Hopefully above link will take you straight to car rental if not choose from the list.

Aha. I've just got a cookie pop up and it looks like they are part of the Hertz group.

Thanks.

I have decided to book the car and risk it.
£49 for a medium diesel full/full for 4 days in February.
I will report back on the setup at the airport on my return
If it is Hertz looking after the rentals for Thrifty it will be great!

Cheers

Hi sorry for not posting back on this topic, i completely forgot!
I had no problems at all.
Hertz look after the car rental for thrifty, i had full/full on the fuel with them.
The car i had was a brand new peugeot 308 sports diesel less than 700km on the clock.
I collected the keys in the arrivals hall at Alicante airport then proceeded to the multistory car park
At the airport, about a 5 min walk.
The car was in immaculate condition and they really check it over when you take it back so beware of this.

just a tip i took out excess insurance in the uk with a company called car hire excess.
just Google the company.
It was £7.00 for 4 days cover, to be honest its a no brainer as they will charge you a lot maybe 40Euro at the airport.
Hope this helps

Thanks for updating the thread, much appreciated.

Did Hertz/Thrifty take a deposit on your credit card when you collected the car?
How were the queues compared with the other rental desks?

Thanks again.

Yes they did, but i think all the car hire companies do it now.

The queues were fine there were 2 people in front of me i only waited 5 mins.

As i said take out a hire car excess insurance its worth it for peace of mind.
I have just taken out one for 5 days in Ireland and it was £9.95 less than £2.00 a day.
Have a good trip!
