Hi, a bit late in posting this but I'd say that an intensive language course is most useful if you already have some kind of a base. The base doesn't need to be huge, but everything will probably be in spanish, however easy.

I done a one week course in Spain to help me practice conversation, stayed with a Spanish family which was good aswell. You can learn alot in a month so I reckon it'd be money well spent, as long as you try to use what you have learned in class outside on the streets.

Hi,

I've been thinking of doing something similar with the added bonus of Salsa classes next spring and found the following:

They certainly have an extensive programme in Cuba and other Spanish speaking countries so they might be worth a look.

I think one of the best language course operators is http://www.applelanguages.com/ They have a great website and you can learn Spanish, German, Italian, German and more with them.

For a Cuba specific course, you can try http://www.applelanguages.com/en/learn/spanish/cuba.php.

All the best with your decision!
