Hi I hope someone can help, I'm looking to get away from the usual home based gathering for new year but I'm not sure where to go.
Was thinking Dublin, Paris, Barcelona etc if anyone can give me any info on any of these or other places that would be great. Can't find any info which tells me what goes on or what's best at new year.
Looking at doing this on the not too expensive side, will happily trawl the net for a good hotel deal and book flight seperately.
Thanks
We're considering Amsterdam - (see my earlier post) know it will be cold (been several time 'off season') but am assured that the Dammers know how to have a great time on NYE.
Lost of reasonable flights & hotels on the net.
Just concerned over the transport back to airport on New Years Day !!

Deffinitely Brugge, nice place, great beer, fantastic bars and restaurants.
Dublin is a brilliant place to be for new year and there is plenty going on there you will have a choice of what type of night you want to experience
We too would like to go away for New Year aswell. Would really love to go to Istanbul but wonder whether it would be better going there in warmer weather?
Also have heard good reports about Cologne. Anyone been there for New Year?

We've been to Amsterdam for the last three NYE and it is awesome
Street parties if you want them or pubs where it is easy to get served if you choose that option or, do both, roll into the streets at midnight, join the parties, what thousands of fireworks (and dodge a few that are thrown at you) it really is great. It's close to home so travel times are not bad which at that time of year is a major plus.

Any more ideas anyone?
