Hi I have not posted for such a long time but now as this year seems to be flying by thought I had better fopcus some attentyion on my wedding and get some advice from you guys. We are getting married in Ayia Napa Monastery on 22nd Septemeber which is all sorted however, we are unsure where to go for our wedding reception I like the look of a few places one is a fish restaurant Markos which I believe is on the harbour the other is called the Limelight has anyone been to either or is there any where you could recommend for a kind of traditional Cypriot wedding reception
My other questions where flowers in Ayia Napa, cars for transport (taxis or proper wedding cars), hairdresses and maybe a beautician/nail artist.
Hope someone out there can help I just hate having nothing to plan for this big day.
We are staying in the Olympic Lagoon which is also starting to concern me a little as I have read mixed feedback.
I would appreciate any help
Thanks Nicki
Hi Claire and Iain,
You asked about Evelyn in Limassol, (see her site address below).
I got to know Evelyn, through her reply in the forum when I asked for help with accomodation in Limassol, (nothing to do with a wedding as we are 2 'oldies'). Her help was endless, never getting frustrated or annoyed with my 1001 questions and all of this with no reward to herself, at a very busy time with her own business.
She is an English lady (which, if she happens to read this, we have forgiven her for, after all the whole world can't be Scottish!) who was a tour rep for a number of years, and, having lived in Limassol for many years, knows the area extremely well.
Last year she secured our accomodation at a very good price to us, and even took the time to pop round to see us for a blether. We are back in Limassol for 4 weeks this year and will definately make a point of meeting up with her as we now consider her a good friend.

Hope this helps

Hi there to all you getting married in Cyprus! Ihave had a few people asking me about the wedding coordinator that we used last June when we got married in Cyprus.
Her name is Evelyn and she was fantastic! Avery professional person who certainly wanted everything to go as perfect as any bride and bridegroom would wish.
So if you have any worries about a wedding coordinator I could not recommend her enough (as you would see on my posting my wedding in limmasol)
Thanks Evelyn!!!!!!!

From the pier in the harbour, about 250 - 300 yards.
There is a footpath, Stasandrou, that starts behind Woolies/Ermes(/Debenhams now?) that leads you to St Pauls Pillar/Ayia Kyriaki Church.

Hi Furball, We are goin to paphos in 4 weeks. My brother is getting married in St Georges Church and is staying at the Alexander the great hotel. Yes they do cater for people getting married. We were recommended this hotel as it is supposed to be one of the best in Paphos. My cousin also got married in Paphos last October and stayed at this hotel, they got married at the town hall and had there reception at the hotel, it was fabulous. Hope you find this useful.
cheers nice one!!!
It does look lovely my only concern is the price seems quite expensive but i defo will check this place out, didnt know whether to go through a local travel agents to book....
many thanks furball.
many thanks furball.
It is expensive, my brother and wife to be have paid £2500 for 2 weeks B&B. There are no wedding costs in this price!
The rest of us (20 in total) are staying at the Ledra Beach. Its better value for money as its all inclusive!!

so would you recommend the ledra then????
just checking prices out really has the wedding is gonna cost about 4000 plus and plus finding accomodation is a dear do! I couldnt really afford to spend £
2500 for two week, although would be nice.
thanks

Hi furball, We have been told that the Ledra is very nice but I will have to let you know. We were told that the Alexander didnt really cater for children and as there were quite a few in our group this was a major factor. Obviously the Alexander would be nicer as it is a higher grade hotel but it all comes down to money at the end of the day. My brother is going away to get married to save on the cost and actually it has probably worked out more expensive as they are having a big party when they return. We have a very good friend who is the top manager for cyprus/egypt for a well known tour operator and he has checked out all of the hotels for us.
Hi
Does anyone have a rough idea of the cost of getting married abroad with TC?
May fiance and I are considering Cuba in March 07 for our wedding so any info will be great!

Hi Missuslady, Not sure of costs but you might want to ask this on the Caribbean forum - might get more realistic answers to your questions.
