Hi all,
I booked an holiday last Sunday going to Dom. Republic for two weeks in June at a price of 1,088 for two people AI with Thomson.
We had to pay 300 upfront which was ok and the rest has to be paid by 3rd May when i had in my head it was 7th May (day paid).
Anyway what are my chances of getting my deadline extended until 7th May as its only a few days?
All help would be greatful!
Kyle
It was booked on the net, anymore advice?
Hiya, im not sure how it works online but i imagine you will have a number to telephone in case of problems? Or you could ask in your local shop.
Explain your circumstances to them, it should be fine, as you say its only a few days, i have seen shop booked holidays be extended by 3 weeks for the final payment with the assurance of the customer that they definately were still going on the holiday and were not going to cancel.
Good luck

Hi Kyle, when we booked our holidays the remainding balance had to be payed on the 4th may (Shop confirmation), yet when we received the confirmation through the post (Don't know why we received two), the due date on the second confirmation was the 12 may. I really don't think they would bother if the payment was a couple of days overdue, and many cheques do get lost in the post! Regards, BBB
If you've booked with a Travel Agent, the chances are that you have time. Usually the agent will put the balance due date two weeks before the tour operator needs it cleared in their account. This allows time for cheques to clear in both the agency client account and the tour operator account. Also some credit cards take a little while to appear in agency client accounts. Most travel agency groups pay tour operators on a weekly basis (rather than booking by booking) so you have to factor this time in as well. As long as you keep talking to whoever you booked it through, you should be OK.
However if you booked direct, the time allowed may be tighter.

Well I usually wait for a reminder when I've booked with a travel agent in the high street!
This year though a reminder never came and I'd totally forgot the date it had to be paid. Next thing I know I got a letter saying it was over due and could I pay it ASAP. I rang up and paid it over the phone no problem!

Payment was sorted for the 10th all we had to do was email them and that way we had a written copy.
Thanks all
