Hi all,
did post this on a previous post but have had no reply.
I've looked at the hotel reviews for Avanti Hotel and Village and they don't seem to be that good.
Has anyone just returned from them that can give me some more info?
We usually holiday at the Athena Beach hotel but as our daughter is getting older, i think she needs something more to do other than watching us sunbathe!!!
Someone suggested the Avanti Village and the website looks good, just need some honest opinions on the place.
Thanks
Sally

                Hi Sally
It's me again
Hollylolly got married from there last year and is booked
to go back again this September she enjoyed the place so much. She had
kids with her who had a great time and thats why, as well as their excellent
site, I'm going and taking my grandchildren with me

The hotel is much nicer than the village imo.
The village is a mini butlins, and the accomodation is in blocks. The pool area is small and very busy.
The animation team of chris, helena and monica do a good job running between the two places but the hotel has the majority of the activities.
The only thing I thought was better at the village, is that there is a shallow bit where the kids can float along. And a supermarket.

                Hi Sally

We are going with First Choice flying out at 9am on 13th September

We're flying from Glasgow Sally but FC flight times are good anyway.
debbg I assume you stayed at the Village and the Hotel then. On the recce
I did in December I certainly didn't see any blocks as such and the pool
area looked fairly large. Anyway we are looking forward to it

No, luckily we stayed at the hotel.
We went over there one afternoon because one of the animation team was off and it was easier to have the childrens water polo in the smaller pool.
We cut through the shrubland between the 2 places and had a look around while we were there.
To me it seemed like chav city, lots of tattoos and burberry!!!!!

I find that a very sweeping and derogatory statement for someone who hasn't
stayed in a place to make

However I'll be there in September, as will Hollylolly, and will make up my
own mind and pass the review on.

                Hi all,
having stayed at the Avanti Village last Sept and as bluebabe says got married from there, I can honestly say that it was a fantastic complex! (debbg) How can you possibly compare it to Butlins? As for chav city, if you want tattoos and burberry, we stayed at the Elvita in Rhodes in May this year and that's how it was there, we hated the place so much that we paid £900 for alternative accommodation to escape! My point on the matter is, if the Avanti Village was all "tattoos and burberry" we wouldn't stay there again! As it is we're going back in Sept this year and have also booked for 2 weeks with the kids next June.
Each to their own I suppose!
Sally, as bluebabe says we had 6 kids with us ranging in ages from 17 months up to 18yrs and they all loved the place. We gave the 3 middle kids the choice of a private villa or the Village for next year and they all jumped at the latter choice.

I did say 'in my opinion'
Am I not entitled to that

I am just glad I didnt stay there, and only visited it for a while.

It's preferable though that they have actually stayed in the place before
making derogatory comments about it

                Hi Helen,
We can't wait for Sept either! Soooo excited.

Still feel a little guilty about leaving the kids behind
but it will be June again before we know it. They can't wait to go back. We haven't told them we're staying at the Avanti Village so they don't mind us going. We're classing it as our honeymoon as well as being for our 1st anniversary.

We've booked in from the 30th May to 13th June next year so maybe we will get to meet after all!

Take care, Paulaxx

Thanks Bluebabe and Hollylolly for all your info.
If we go it'll be end of May beginning of Jun e too as our anniversary is 1st June.
Hollylolly(Paula) let us know when you get back in Sept what you think of it this year. Who do you book through? Is it cheaper to book package or DIY?

                Hi Sally,
last year we went with Thomas Cook but it worked out expensive at £1900 approx (2wks, 2 adults 3 kids). For Sept this yr we paid around £800(1wk, 2 adults)with Direct holidays, First Choice aren't bad. For next year we've booked direct with the Avanti and they've come back with £955cyp which is a real bargain for 2 weeks!
We still have to book our flights but they're coming out at around £1200 depending on airline. I suppose it works out roughly about the same both ways if you can normally get in a 1 bedroomed apt with the travel agents but we can't as our youngest will be 3 when we go again which means that they will only let you book with them if you get 2 rms which works out at a staggering £3450!!!!
Booking direct saved us a lot of money as you can see.

Hope this helps and you can be sure I'll let you know what it's like when we return this time, although bluebabe will get there first as she flies home on the day I get there!

Forgot to ask Sally, how old is your daughter?

                Hi paula,
She's 2 and a half, so will be 3 next year. 3 going on 20 sometimes!!!!!!
we usually use Thomson, but I see they don't have Avanti. Will check out other operators, but booking direct sounds good and could always book flights with Thomson as i like their flight times.
Hope you have a nice time on your own!!

                Hi Sally,
I know just what you mean! Our youngest will be 3 just before we go next year and she's definitely been here before!

If you end up at the Avanti Village they could end up being best friends for a couple of weeks!

Feel really bad leaving the kids but sometimes you just need a little grown up time don't you and it is only 7 days.

Helen, it would be great if you could get there at the same time! We could all meet up for a drink or three! Good luck.
