have you seen the members hotel reviews yet??
the mayfair apartments [official rating garde A] are situated aprox half way between Kato Pafos [the harbour and tourest area] and Neo Pafos [the town] from memory no sandy beaches in that area you will be around 1KM from a shingle beach

Thanks Wizard....
I had alook at the reviews but I think most of them were from a few years back.
I take it that the harbour area is also where the main bars / restaurants are eg...Bar Street or maybe i've got it wrong & the main bars are in the town centre ?
I've never been to Cyprus so this is all new to me

I am not a bar person, so here goes... on the harbour front you will find 3/4 nice taverns my favorite is the Pelican, we like to wander round the harbour and stop there for a drink or two and people watch [but you pay for the pleasure]
the main bar area is between Poseidonos and Pafias Aphroditis/Agiou Antoniou [these are road names] if you head for Pafos Aquarium you wont be far out [about .75km from the Mayfair] the bars and taverns in the town are [or were when last there] more traditional take a bus up in the week to the Agora [covered market] where you will find lots of gifty and household items to spend your dosh on,
look at the last page of this thread and you will find a post from me detailing trips that are usualy available and further on carlnc has made some recomendations on eating/drinking

Legs77 - if you check on the hotel reviews you will find mine from May this year.
If I go back to Paphos I would have no qualms about staying at the Mayfair again.

Its about a 10 minute walk down to Bar St, another 5 mins to the harbour, i would stay at the Mayfair again, i enjoyed my time there, also stayed at the Louis King Jason which is a lot smaller but also very nice.
Thanks for the responses guys & its good they have added my post onto the back of this one.
Just hope its improved from the 2006 reviews i've been reading !!!

I am staying here for 2 weeks flying out on Sun 12th. In the info from from the Olympic website, it states that men are required to wear long trousers when in the restaurant. All other info from sites such as Thompson, Thomas Cook etc does not have any mention of this.
Has anyone stayed there recently and would be able to confirm whether or not long trousers are required.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info.
We stayed there in May and men did wear long trousers in the evening. I am sure you will enjoy it - the staff are lovely especially Laura in the bar and Andreas (restaurant Manager).
Have a good time.
