how safe is cala dor reading reports off petty crime.hotelrooms/apartment
burgled.
Captain
We have stayed in Cala Dor twice over the recent years and would say that it is a quiet "up market" resort, and we have never experienced any such problems, however where you get tourists you will get chancers, and its wise to be careful, get a safe, ensure your valuables are locked up etc, and be careful when out and about that you dont leave yourself open to theft/s.c.a.m.s etc.
You take a risk with this sort of thing whereever you go on holiday, but Cala Dor would be somewhere I would feel a lot safer than some of the "busier resorts".

Even though Cala D'or is said to be one of the nicer places on the island there are still a few undesireables around now and again, we have heard of a couple going around the resorts stealing handbags from beneath resturant tables, they were in CDor in May and got away with 2 bags. other than that there are always thefts from hotel rooms if people leave ground floor windows open or personal property lying about, this is not just Cdor this is every where and you need to be on your guard the same as in the UK. Early on in the year someone on holiday truths had their villa broken into and the safe forced but this is a rare occurance in Cdor.
Be careful be ok
Steve.

We've been going to Cala D'or for several years and are buying an apartment there. Where there are tourists there is always petty crime and unfortunetly wherever you go breakins are a fact of life. We have heard of the odd breakin but we live in a "good" area in England but it didn't stop someone breaking into my car whilst it was parked outside my house. As other have said take suitable precautions and all should be well.
I'm sure you will love Cala D'or, as others have said it's a quiet resort but with enought going on to keep all entertained! Best resort we have found.

I went to Cala D'or 3 years ago and never had any problems and felt perfectly safe, I could see how some of those blinking people on mopeds might be able to grab your handbag though.
Although I never actually saw this happen.
I am off to cala d'or 3 weeks on thursday, so if your not going before then I will report back when I return.
Last time we stayed in the heart of cala d'or (hotel cala gran) and this time we are staying by the harbour (hotel puerto del sol), will let you know how the areas compare.
