Thinking of going in august, obviously very hot ! do women have to keep shoulders covered in hotel, have some nice dresses with no sleeves just straps would they be ok??
mandy. bare shoulders are fine around the hotel although I prefered to dress more 'modestly' in the evening. It will be VERY hot in August. You'll have to sunbathe before breakfast and late afternoon or spend lots of time submerged in the pool
The sea is too warm (apparently) and the sand way too hot to walk on. Of course you could spend the hottest daytime hours skiing
at http://www.skidubai.com to keep cool.

thanks ermintude, thought sand may be hot, do you think you would be ok near to sea to sit and play at some point during the day as the children love the beach? We are struggling to find anywhere that sounds as nice so not sure wether to risk it in august??!!!!
Saw this hotel on sky travel shop this afternoon. It looks fantastic!!!
Yes Nick it is fantastic! We went for the first time last February (2005) and wished we had 'discovered' it when our children were younger. We returned to Dubai in October and stayed at the Jumeirah Beach's sister hotel the Al Qasr which is situated just the other side of the Wild Wadi Water Park in the Madinat Jumeirah Resort complex. Both hotels are amazing and I would return to either one in a heartbeat ... but not in July or August. I love the heat and have been to (and enjoyed) Turkey and Egypt in August when temperatures have been in the low 40s but I don't think I (or my kids) could cope with the humidity and possible 50 degree temperatures in Dubai.
Mandy you can check out recorded temperatures in Dubai over the past 5 years for certain dates whith the 'Trip Planner' option on http://www.wunderground.com eg here: http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/OMDB/1972/8/14/PlannerHistory.html?dayend=28&monthend=8&yearend=1972&req_city=Dubai&req_state=&req_statename=UAE Hope that link works - you'll need to scroll down for the temperatures which are in degrees F. Also I strongly recommend that you use the search facility on the http://www.tripadvisor.com dubai discussion forum and type in something like 'weather in August'. Try this link: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g295424-i872-Dubai.html
If you decide to skip Dubai iin August I can recommend another top class hotel/resort in Turkey which has great kids facilities just PM me.

hi just read on another forum that someone had just returned and was talking to guests who had been go jumeirah beach hotel for years and they said the standards had gone down has anyone returned recently we have just booked for september next year and got a really good deal so just hoping the standards haven't drooped any recent info much appreciated i have looked on the hotel reviews and there doesn't appear to be any recent reviews
We went to the Jemeriah Beach Hotel in August this year. It is FANTASTIC! The best hotel I have ever stayed in. How we will ever go back to Spain or Greece I don't know.
The customer service is brilliant, all of the staff speak to you and bend over backwards for you.
I'd love to go back next year, got to save the £££ though as it's expensive - especially to eat in the hotel. My husband and I went for a meal and we had 2 courses plus wine and it came to £80 - the wine was £30!!! So take your credit card.
It's a fantastic place.
