I took my video camera with me when i went in April this year. i didnt stay in a beach hut though, i kept mine in the safe in the hotel, and only took it out when i was going to use it.
I wouldn't go without the video camera to capture the sights and sounds
(I would make sure its insured though and keep used tapes seperately)

I have my camcorder with me all the time during daytime, it is one of the new small digital ones and I keep it in the bottom of my small backpack.
At evenings I keep it in my room.
But I think I would take the inconvinience of carrying with me at evenings as a trade off to have some memories on tape.
That said it of course depends on what is on the menu for the night.
It may look a little silly at the casino...
