URGENT
Do you need a passport ,travelling from uk by ferry to Dublin???
My friend is on her way to the ferry as I speak and i'm pretty sure she hasn't got her passport!!!! but the worst is she's on her to attend a funeral. Thanks
she doesnt need a p[assport, but she will need a form of ID (Ie picture driving license) she may be lucky & not be checked, i always have been tho

In the terms and conditions for travel Irish ferries satte that they will accept bank cards as proof of ID. There is an agreement between uk and Republic of ireland governments which means that you don't need passport to travel between the 2.
If you're flying you do need photo ID for which you can use photo driving licence.
