i'm happy your pleased with the cost of your flights,but i believe you could have got them even cheaper,i have just booked our seats for 4 people,traveling in may 07,and only paid £414 inc c/card fee,£103.50 each,so a tip for susien,shop around,or maybe give first choice airlines a go,as we did,hopefully you will save a few quid,good luck,and happy holidays,

Thanks for the tip Susien , It would be stupid not to check out all the prices before taking the plunge - The cheapest I could find was £1075 for all of us and this didnt include the meals and were awful times.First choice wanted £1085!

Many competitors were asking as much as £250 a seat.

Average flight price in advance to dalaman is approx £200 so I believe both me and yourself have grabbed ourselves a bargain.

I can grab some fab accom through icr for as little as £18.00 a night for the 5 of us -

I make that a DIY total of £957 which considering I am staying over half term can only be described as a fab deal for my family of 5

Hi I have been thinking about having a dabble at this DIY idea but logging on to the website mentioned above I could only find prices as low as £90 each way, in May, what am I doing wrong.

I think BA work very much liuke easyjet etc and have no set fares , the prices are low when first released and increase as more people book

i think you have done well cos oct prices are always fairly high and when i look usually more than may, im looking for oct too and even first choice flights for oct are dear at the mo

i too have booked with first choice and got some really cheap flights for the summer for 19 nights, but the prices over the last few weeks have gone up a lot and my flights i booked have doubled in price,

We've booked for September and found it actually cheaper to book with Portland Direct as a package (Olu) than it was to book DIY. The only downside was the fuel surcharges at £40 each. This year we went to the same resort but a different hotel and it was cheaper DIY. We never book meals, but all passengers are given food anyway, so you can save £10 each to start with.

I think at the end of the day, we'll all pay whatever we have to to visit our beloved Turkey.

I booked my flights for may and august next year through first choice about a month ago from east mids to dalaman got them for £ 115 in may and £ 144 in august, i have just looked at same flights that I have and found out that they have gone up in price by £ 66 in may and a whopping £ 80 in august, and that is per person.
so i reckon i saved £ 132 on the may flights cause there are only the 2 of us, but saved £ 480 for the august flights as there are 6 of us travelling then, all because i booked them a month ago

For cheap flights and accomodation you could try http://otbeach.com. I have booked 2 weeks for 2 adults and 2 children flying from Glasgow 29th June staying at the Letonia Beach Fethiye all inc for £1660.00.

Booked them back in June for July 07 at first we booked 5 seats Newcastle to Dalaman 700pounds.

Good deal i thought since then our flights have nearly doubled in price.

Got my daughters seats a few days after we booked ours and it was 30 pounds more.

So some times it pays to book early but on other hand we got 2 seats in oct this yaer last minute for 90 each.

Its just a chance you take.

We also have just got an A/I hotel in Marmaris for all off us for 620 pounds 2 rooms which is brilliant and 110 for transfers.

jagsareus, thats a good price for letoonia in june as its an expensive place to stay in, we were there last month and 2 adults and 1 child for a week cost about £900

have to say we had a great holiday and ive loaded a lot of photos on the gallery not sure if you have seen or not, theres a chap there that does portraits hes fantastic so dont miss out on that, he was so good i had 2 done of my daughter ,1 for her grand parents they were so life like they looked like a black and white photo, if you want any info re letoonia pm me

looking at flights for next oct with ba they are only about £15 pp cheaper than h4u and from london whereas h4u are from my local airport so not worth it for me as gatwick 1 1/2 hrs away, ill keep looking shame first choice arent doing the oct flights similar price to what they have done for the summer recently, seems a lot of us have got som real bargains, my flights for july incorporating school hols for 19 nights were only £125 from birmingham my local airport great price for 19 nights, could have got them around 99 for 2 wks

Dont everyone panic because they cant get a BA flight, wait till January they always have a new year sale, thats when i always book mine for th coming year.
