Is there lots of shopping outlets, and where is best to purchase tickets for shows? Is it best when you get there or online.

There is the Fashion Show Mall and Ross Dress for Less on the strip as well as the high end shop at the Forums Shops, etc.

There is the Premium Outlets near downtown and the LV Outlet Center south of the strip where the best bargains are to be had.

From the Strip, take Deuce Southbound, ask for a transfer to the 303 Southbound. The 303 brings you to the center. Buses run approximately every 20 minutes. Contact CAT for a schedule.

Fare is $2 one-way, $5 for 24-hour pass.

You can take the 301 or 302 route to the SSTT (South Strip Transfer Terminal) And there get on the 303 that goes to the Las Vegas Outlet Center.

As for shows, it depends what you want to see. For the bigger shows such as Celine or any or the Cirque shows it is better to book online in advance to get the seats you want.

For the smaller shows you can book 1/2 price tickets on the day of the show at one of the 1/2 price ticket shops. There's one at the Fashion Show Mall.

Sorry to be so blunt, but to take an 18 year old to Las Vegas is just cruel It must be one of the most frustrating experiences that anybody could experience.

Its an adults play ground and in Vegas, 21 is adult. Take them somewere they can enjoy.

I don't agree. I don't drink and have had 2 holidays which included Lss Vegas. I tried the slots once - lost a few dollars and went and did something more interesting instead. There are fabulous shows, the shoppings great, we did trips to the grand canyon, Hoover dam and red rock canyon. I loved just wandering around people watching and seeing all the big hotels. Our hotel had a fab pool which we spent time at. Theres also a water park and a couple of the hotels have theme parks.

i think you will find,it is part of a multi center holiday,so she will, be going to places,she will enjoy.
i am positive,she will enjoy vegas anyway.there is so much,to see & do,i'm sure she will be blown away by it.describing it,just doesn't do it justice.
just looking around,all the hotels & soaking,up the atmosphere,is something,in its self.they all have something different to offer.we were there for 5 nights & certainly never seen them all.
if your'e bored in vegas,youl'l be bored everywhere.

To be quite truthful we are not gamblers anyway none of us. We do love shopping, seeing sights and going to some top notch shows.

I hadnt realised there is a water park, that wold be quite interesting for the girls, where is it please?

My daughters friend will have her 21st birthday in Vegas and she said to us before booking, that she would like to be there for her 21st somehow, it was her dream, my husband and i, were thrilled to be able to make her wish come truth.

There is no longer a water park, Wet n' Wild closed a few years ago.

If swimming and sunbathing are important then chose a hotel with a nice pool area. IIRC you are staying at the Flamingo and the pool area there is quite nice.

The water park closed two years ago and is now partly demolished.

There will be plenty to do without gambling. My SO doesn't gamble at all and he didn't get bored once in the three weeks we were there. (He's not 18 though)

Just looking around the hotels/casinos and people watching will take up time. It is amazing IMO.

Don't worry, there will be lots for you all to do. Specially if you like shopping.

Yes but it should be remembered that under 21's are not allowed (other than too past though) into the Casino areas, which are a large part of Vegas.

When I was there, I always felt sorry for kids been dragged around by there parents in Vegas - its clearly not a place designed for children, nor should it be. Children attractions are only in Vegas as a secondary consideration IMO, drink, gambling, adult attractions and even the sex industry are much more previlent and under 21's are considered or at least treated as children in Vegas.

Just my thoughts anyway.

The Hard Rock Hotel has a concert venue called the Joint that allows all ages.
You may want to check the Hard Rock schedule if their's something that fits her interests.
The HR pool area is perfect for that age too.

Not sure what's going on at Circus Circus,, rumors of all sorts of it's future.

MGM Who own Circus Circus did announce that they were planning to redevelop the site as they felt not enough was being made of the sizeable plot it stands on. Rumour had it that Circus Circus would close early this year, but a quick search shows that they are accepting bookings throughout the year.

They are very strict across Vegas about under-21s gaming. When I was sat playing blackjack last September,the game would be stopped while "age checks" were carried out - all players had to produce ID. They even have security staff ensuring that parties including children do not even linger, but keep moving though the casino part of the hotel.
