Basking sharks are filter feeders and that includes other fish. I dont think
any human attacks are recorded so they could be described as veggies PS best wait for the cheque before starting the spending spree.

probably..maybe we have the great white shark or orca in greece and we havent realize it yet.the thing is that its not dangerous the sea in greece.every year in the world 150 people die from sharks. we had 8 attacks the last 100 years..so its more possible to die from thunder in rhodes (sunniest place on earth) than meeting a shark over here..
than meeting a shark over here..

That greek article says it's nourished exclusively by plankton, derives from the Greek word 'planktos' meaning drifting, this contains animal and vegetable material, so it's not exclusively veggie.
I used the appropriately named babel fish translation:

Anyway, I think it's a walrus with two wooden false teeth....

The Wizard felt this topic was becoming unpleasant although that was certainly not my intention.
I am aware that Basking sharks scoop up large shoals of mackeral off the south Cornish coast, ask any fisherman!!

i think its very funny talking about sharks in greece. we here can swim everywhere. we never had any problems with these animals..my house is on faliraki beach 10 meters from the sea. me personally have met a lot of times big and dangerous sharks in athens stockmarket, sofokleous street...all white

during this weekend we try to go to Symi island..and guess what!!!! we saw a big whale at the middle of the trip and some dolphins..

I envy you! The only time I've seen dolphins was on the way to Symi and I've never seen a whale!

I have often seen dolphins around Symi (my spiritual home for many years) but never a whale. I'll look more carefully when we return in September.
I hope you enjoyed the trip, Makispol.
