i am off to the gran hotel guadalpin banus next month, the website says 800metres from banus marina and i guess about the same from the town.

Both hotels have supermarkets nearby, as their name says the Banus one is central to everything in Puerto Banus, El Corte Ingles has a large supermarket on the ground floor.

The Marbella one is also close to everything but easier to access the city centre so its really personal choice, if it were I it would be the Banus one for a holiday, designer shops, lots of life. If you wanted to move between the two it is a bus or taxi ride.

I returned last night after 4 days at the guadalpin banus and have just added a hotel review in the review section.

The word "Stunning" features a lot in my review largely because they upgraded us to "suites" and mine had a wonderful sea view.

The hotel is a little out of Pueto Banus and a little off the beaten path but you can easily reach the Marina with a 5.80 euro taxi, the walk along the sandy beach is a good mile but nice for a change.

The hotel runs a mercedes Vito people carrier to the marbella guadalpin every hour on the hour and it returns every hour on the half hour(free), so its a cheap way of getting into marbella for a change or a night out.

The swimming pool is a nice sun trap, the beach is good and the staff are hard working.

Being a five star hotel the bar/mini bar prices reflect the hotel status but its well worth the money.
