For medical cases you can go the the Red Cross points, all over the Island. For very urgent medical you can dial the international number 112. Sa Coma is near to Manacor, there is an hospital.

I can speak from experience.....We were in Paguera last August when my 7 year old son developed a perforated appendix with peritonitis. The hotel called the doctor and subsequently the ambulance, which arrived within 10 mins. The doctor and ambulance driver were brilliant, as were the hospital staff. My lad was in hospital for 10 days, it took the shine off the our holiday to say the least, but my son got superb treatment, we were assigned a translator who dealt with all of the insurance matters. My son nows regards his scar as some sort of different momento of Majorca. We are going back to the same resort this year, and I don't have any hesitation to do this, although I hope no one has to make use of their service, but these things happen and I can't speak too highly of the medical treatment that my son received.
Waynehayes, I don't know about going directly to the hospital, but there are always plenty of doctors available for call-out wherever we have been on the island, the doctor that we dealt with spoke enough English to communicate what needed to be communicated, and certainly at the hospital itself the translator spoke perfect English, and couldn't do enough for us.

Hi, a few years ago we were staying in Magalluf when my son (who was 3 at the time) had quite a bad allergic reaction to something. His legs, side, stomach and arms were very red, blotchy and swollen. We took him to the nearest doctor's who accepted our E111 forms and was treated immediately. The doctor spoke English and he treated my son like he was his own. Very caring, explaining everything and even when my son was screaming because of the two injections he had, he was helping to calm him down. When he gave us a prescription for medicine, he also told me he had written on the prescription that the cost was to be paid for from the E111, which was brilliant and very thoughtful, so that we didn't have to pay for that either.

I cannot fault the service we received and god forbid it happens again (which I hope it won't), I would have no hesitation in going to the doctors in Majorca.

The Health Service here in Majorca is better than that in UK by a country mile. They don't have the political meddling that you have in Britain - so people get treated straight away.

Make sure you have your E111 form, and make a note of the emergency numbers, and you'll be fine.

If you are on a package holiday you will be given the emergency info at your welcome meeting if you a travelling independant this info will be available from your reception.
However if you do need medical attention on holiday you are better to use your travel insurance as your E111 only covers your medical expenses whereas your insurance covers medical expenses hotel stays transport and flights home. If you use your E111 and then need to stay in hospital your insurance wont pay for your families hotel costs or flights home as you havent used your insurance in the first place. Also E111 is state hospital care and your insurance is private and the insurance take care of everything for you.

The E111 is no longer valid and has been superseded by the EHIC, European Health Insurance Card. Some insurance companies insist that you have this as a condition of the insurance.
