Hello all!
I have never been to Turkey before, my boyfriend and I are going to Hotel Marbella (have found no reviews of this, anyone know about it?) in Marmaris on 25 June. We are going bed and breakfast for 10 days. I plan do buy a few bags and some souvenirs to take home but I just wanted to know how much money I should roughly take with me. We plan to go on some boat trips and eat out every night with snacks in the day but I dont know the rough prices of things. I will probably take currency with me as by the looks of other posts the exchange rate is roughly same at home as Turkey. Anyone got any help they wish to offer?
Thanks x
Hey,
Just my two cents -
We take £400 each. Eat out every night, snacks during the day, like a drink or six, go on one or two excursions and buy souvenirs. Get some "stuff" at the airport, and generally bring some money home.
Have a good time,
Dan

Found reviews on http://www.holidaywatchdog.com. It is difficult for anyone to tell you how much money to take, no one knows how much you shop, drink, things you like to eat etc. Maybe think how much you would spend if you stayed in the UK and take that amount. Sorry that doesn't sound very helpful.Holidays in Marmaris can be as cheap or as expensive as you like.
Sorry Briar didn't realise that.
I usually take £400 for me for 14 nights, and do the same, eat out at lunch and dinner and like drinks during the day and evening. Also buy some goodies
I usually split it into 14 piles and if there is any left from a day i add it to the next day

first time I went to marmaris 16 years or so ago stayed for 3 weeks and spent 240 quid including hotel and transfers, most expensive holiday I ever had as came back with a wife
as a family of five we took 2,5oo last year which is what we take going to salou tenerife greece but we came back with just short of 800 quid but un europe we would have spent it all and come home with nothing. we ate out about out of
14 breakfasts about 10
14 lunches most of them
14 dinners all off them
my hubby likes a drink and had quite a few and we did some trips too. so if you take between 800-1000 you should be fine with that i would think.
hope this is a bit of a guide to help you.
ps some trips include lunch and drinks.

Just back from my mates villa in Ovacik, ate out every day and drank (a lot
) I spent £150, that included buying a pair of genuine fake Prada shoes, three Armani shirts and 5 T shirts.
We take £1000 between the two of us, and have the bank card ready in case of emergency. We generally come home with a couple hundred left.
I like to spend on the goodies when I'm there so can easily get through the cash unfortunately. I just wanted to say that re buying handbags - it depends what you're after. If you want the really good wuality fakes where you absolutely can't tell the difference from the real thing then you have to be prepared to pay about £80 to £100 each for a bag that would cost you over £1k for the real deal. There are fakes that are a lot cheaper but they're obvious fakes. Depends what you want I suppose. Last year I bought 3 bags (2 for daughters 1 for me) 1 Chloe - 1 Mulberry and 1 Balenciaga - all top quality paid about £260 for the three after haggling.

We went to olu deniz last year but went alliclusive. We were a family of four and for one meal out... a couple of drinks ,did the massage thing, bingo, cocktails on cocktail night, bought a few cheap fakes.... and still managed to spend £500.... if we went self catering i think we would spend in excess of £2000 for the four of us
32000

Family of 4, we average £100 a day, includes all meals, drinks trips, also take an extra couple of hundred to spend on the wife in the gold shops.

2 of us (hubby & myself) £50 per day if all inclusive or £100 per day if self catering.
Some days we don't spend much, another day we might hire a car & go out & spend what we didn't spend on the beach days.

surely you spend as much as you've got - for me that's not a lot but I will have a good hol and hit the vodka before I go out!!
This is really a difficult one.It all depends on how much you like to drink, because alchohol has gone up in price so much this last couple of years. We take about £650 with us for 2 weeks for 2 of us for 2 weeks,on a self catering holiday. We are not heavy drinkers. We start off with brunch ,maybe full english breakfast,or we buy fresh crusty bread and butter, with cheese from uk.and tomatoes, but every evening eat out on the sea front with a steak meal or whatever. In the day we dont buy drinks around the pool, just pop back to our apartment for a cold drink, drinks are the biggest expenditure,we go to the markets and buy T Shirts,Socks, Cheap handbags,Tableclothes, before we go out at night we have a couple of drinks on the balcony, and to be honest I couldnt drink much more because Im so full after that georgous meal, and we still come home with about £150, having had a great holiday, and booking again for the next year, also we go on all inclusive boat trip, and jeep safari, roll on next Monday when we are off to Marmaris for this year.
