The quick answer is 74.25
Or as Ms Vorderman would explain
1% of 2700 is 27 , cross off both zeros
So 2% would be 27 + 27 = 54
The .75 makes it a bit trickier , but half of 27 is 13.5 so that gives you .5% and half of 13.5 is 6.75
So if you add 13.5 and 6.75 that would be 20.25
And 54 + 20.25 = 74.25 Simples
I used to use this formula to work out VAT when it was 17.5% ( important in my work)
But now the rate is 20% so 10% + 10% is easier than keep halving and adding .
So the price you would pay would be £ 2625.75

Just read an email from thomson
http://www.thomson.co.uk/destinations/deals/summer-2015-jan-code?cmid=53534097&ecamp=w&ito=ecrmo1875829&elink=PROMO
Only 50 off , so the quidco offer is better on your intended purchase , but anyone booking a holiday less than 2000 would benefit from the thomson offer

but couldnt I do both get the £50 off and the 2.75%

No problem x , and annoyingly I only got a grade E at O level in maths
problem being that at the age of 16 things like football and girls were more interesting
and not a lot changes !!

You should get the £50 off to make the price £2650 and then by going through quidco they are a cash back site ? Would then give you 2.75 % off the 2650 As you purchase the thomson holiday you would apply the code to only pay 2650 and then the cash back comes later I assume
So 2.75 % off 2650 is £72.88
Total saving of £122.88
