When we were in Goa in Dec and Jan the main contractor was staying in our Guest House, part of the "deal" was to return the beach to a "Pre Princess" state.

We actually saw a video of the inside of the Princess which is filled with sand, the plan (in theory) was to cut down the ship to a certain level then.........suck out the sand, clean it.... and then transfer the sand to where it came from on the beach

personally I think the sand it the only thing keeping it upright!

PS .........and I did badger the contractor every day....it the ship still there? is the ship still there?

ONE DAY IT WILL BE TRUE!!!!!!!!!

cant understand tourists wanting to be in the shacks there ganesh etc,nice ok but there is the whole of goa to choose without spending time looking at a work site

When we've been to Goa, we've stayed in Candolim and have always gone to VJ's Shack, which is opposite the River Princess.

My first thought was to post them here, as there have been rumours for years of it being moved etc, so thought many on here would appreciate them.

They aren't my photos, but I'll try and get updates as and when he takes more photos.

Thanks for the pics, the last one is amazing - quite a lot of the front (bow? :oops:

) has gone.

Mahal - I'm so :oops:

I can see the netting now.

And - to put the icing on the cake, what I thought was a lot of the bow cut away seems (on closer inspection) to be some smaller boats.

Still, I guess Specsavers is open on Saturday afternoons.... :rofl
