As I have not been to Bayahibe, I thought I would do some research and pass it on to you and every article I have read about the beach says it is 'soft whit fluffy sand',so I guess you wont need those beach shoes to enter the sea.
Hope this helps,
Angie.

Fantastic Angie. Can't wait now. You can see by a couple of my posts that you've answered today, that I'm getting into the mood already. Shame I've got to wait until August
I've got a week in Benidorm to look forward to first though

Ye we all get excited about the Dom. Rep its such a great place, cant you tell with me, if you have read some of my replies to posters we go back year after year, must admit I woud'nt mind a second home over there alot of UK residents do.
August will soon come around, we are going back on April 27th. My case is practically packed already LOL.

Oh forgot to ask you, which resort are you going to in Bayahibe.?
We've booked a fortnight in Dreams La Romana. The most recent reviews after the refurb look promising
Going to check back on your posts to see where you're off to
Have a great time, although, I'll probably be speaking to you again before then
