Can someone tell me what the difference is between the Sunrise Island View Resort and Sunrise Island View Suites? People's online reviews don't seem to talk about these as seperate things, but on the booking websites I am looking at it you have to choose between the two. So which one is better?
Also, what are the standard pool/garden view rooms like? Are they adequate or would people recommend upgrading to a junior suite? I would ideally like somewhere quiet with a balcony or patio.
Thanks
We've just booked to go to this hotel in January. Just hope the weather is good - still it will be better than here!
Will probably have a few questions, but any information will be greatfully received

Returned last night from Sunrise Island View. Had a fantastic time. Very nice hotel and fantastic staff, no complaints whatsoever.
Feel free to ask anything and I will try and help

.I am really looking forward to going to Egypt - it will be our first time there.
Did you do any trips while you were there? We are thinking of doing a day trip to Luxor.

Hi we went to St Catherines and we did the boat trip.
We were going to travel to Jordan for the day, but the pick up time was 3am!!!
All the trips to Cairo etc were pick ups about 4.30am to fly and about 1am to go by coach
Sharm isnt near any of main sight seeing attractions.
I think the trips would be ok if you were going for 2 weeks but we were only there for a week and all the travelling in such intense heat would have been too much.
We do hope to return next year for the Nile Cruise and we will see all the sights then.

Hi Gemma. Glad you enjoyed it. Hope you found the rooms at Sunrise Island View ok for you. Did you get in 200's those room s are really central.
Tamtosh, loved it and would return in a second. Thought the hotel was very nice, staff couldnt do enough for you and the place was kept very clean.
We were in Room 116 - Junior Suite. Looked onto Pool No 1 and near the Italian Restaurant.
We went to Pool No 4 every day, always got beds and umbrella and a lovely breeze from the red sea - sheer bliss.
Will you return to the Sunrise Island View?

We are going to this hotel in January, and I looked on Google Earth yesterday, and it seems very closed to the airport. Can anyone tell me if you get alot of aircraft noise, not that it really bothers me as we live quite close to Heathrow Airport and are not really bothered about the noise, but I'm just interested!!
Stayed here July this year. Is a bout 10 mins from airport but much closer as the crow flies. Occasionally heard planes, mostly when in the amphitheatre, but certainly didn't bother us. It a lovely hotel don't let being that close to the airport put you off.
I agree with Tam - lovely hotel, would go back in a minute. We didnt hear any aircraft noise at all.
Have a great time!

Thank you for your replies. I am really looking forward to go to Egypt, it will be our first time there, and have been looking on the Sunrise Hotels web site and this hotel looks great
We're off to the Sunrise Island View on 18th of this month, can anyone tell me what time it gets dark at this time of year please?
Also, is the hotel 24 hour all inclusive, as I looked on one site and it says it is, but I thought it was until 11 or 12 at night. What snacks are available in the evening - if any?
Are pool towels provided and if so, how is this done. When we were in Turkey, we had a card that we gave in when we got towels and they were returned to us when we took them back. Do all the rooms have hairdriers?
Sorry for all the questions, but thank you for any answers.
I am really looking forward to going now, it will be great to get away from this freezing weather.

Hi can anyone help me with my questions above please, as we go on Sunday, and I don't want to have to take a towel if I don't need one.
Thank you

Hi Janelouise
We were there last July/August absolutely brilliant wish I was going Sunday. Towels. No you don't need to take any and yes it works just as you said you did in Turkey. There is food available till late but I don't think 24hr I am not sure you may be able to upgrade to 24hr AI. As far as I am aware all rooms do have hair dryers. Have a great time, I'm sure you will and tell us all about it when you get back.

I will post a review when we get back

Can anyone tell me how far this hotel is from central Namma Bay ? Is it walking distance or would we need a taxi ?
Thx
Thx
I believe it's next door to the hilton in sharks bay . Definately a taxi or hotel courtesy bus if they have one . About 15 mins drive . you wouldnt want to be walking outside of the hotel gates along there as its basically just desert apart from a couple of shops .

Thanks Lyn.
We're in a quandry as I'm going with my brother who went last year and is determined not to stay to far from Naama Bay, he wants to be able to walk and not use the taxis......I think the driving shook him up more than he'll admit too
