I was in Symi at the ned of September 2003, it was absolutely boiling hot. It is very sheltered and holds the heat.
September is still summer season, it will be really hot, but there may be a bit of a breeze in the evening, I think September and October are the best months to visit Greece!
Unless you're unlucky the weather will be gorgeous. Tilos in Septemeber is so chilled out you wouldn't believe!
