First post!
My family are staying in Tavira over christmas this year.
What will be open and when?
can anyone recommend somewhere to book for xmas lunch (on xmas day)?
Any other recommendations/comments etc on the area will be much appreciated, bearing in mind we have 3 kids ranging from 8-14
cheers
Ian

                Hi John,
we are staying at a place called "Villa Quinta De Perogil"
which is apparently on the edge of town and a 15 minute walk from
the town centre - do you know it?

Hi Kiddie001, we have an apartment just outside Tavira on the 125 and spent last Christmas there. Most of the restaurants close on the afternoon of Christmas Eve, which is when they have their main family celebrations, some are open on Christmas day. We went to the Chinese Restaurant 'Shengchun' in the Praca Dr Antonio Padinha on Christmas Eve and the Bairrada restaurant Vale Caranguejo (281 324 467) on Christmas night, If you take the 125 out of Tavira towards Cabanas, its about 300 yards on the left. We are also going to be there for Christmas again this year, so hope you enjoy it. Thanks DJW - some useful tips.
I take it we would need to book in advance?
What about Boxing day - is everything shut then too?
cheers

Hi Ian, we didn't book for the chinese, but did for Bairrada, however when we turned up there at about 7.30 p.m they were not particularly busy. But I would book anyway. Am flying to Tavira on Friday so if I am near the chinese I will ask for you and get their telephone number. Back early Oct. Regards DJW
