Hi
Advice required, I have been asked a question by friends, as to where the sea is calmest, North or South?
Whilst we have been to Goa a few times, we usualy stay in Candolim & go down to Palolim for a few days. They are thinking of going to the Marriott Hotel in Miramar for Easter, but are concerned because they have heard the sea is rough. I have explained that there are strong currents in Candolim but when we have gone down south it does feel calmer.
I told them, I would put the question on this forum, so all views welcome.
Thanks
AJ

Anywhere that the beach is bay-like you will usually find the sea a little calmer. Palolem and Bogmalo are good examples. I've found that going further north to mandrem and arambol usually means bigger waves.
Co-co beach is also usually quite calm, the beach at Miramar is not great as far as i can remember because it's on the mouth of the river.

Palolim is normally calm, also everywhere tends to be calmer in the morning, the wind/waves pick up in the afternoons....

The beach near the Marriott Hotel isn't advisable although the pool is fantastic. If you want a beach holiday, I wouldn't choose the Marriott.
