Flight Only / Airline and Airports

Whomenever,

I thought it would be that one as I couldn't see any TCX flights. Their flights are operated by Thomson Airways using Boeing 757-200.

Hi Darren, I'm flying to Holguin on March 28th on TCX244 from Manchester. Can you tell me if this aircraft is one of the new A330's please?
Reply
Mdollar,

There are no 'new' A330's as such, the aircraft are still the same ones as previously but one has a new interior. G-CHTZ, the former Bmi aircraft that joined the fleet in November is the aircraft operating the above flight and has the new style interior.

Do you know if that will be the plane used for my MT324/MT325 flight from Manchester to Cancun and return on 22nd Feb,/1st March?

I can see it is the one which has been used for that flight recently, from Flightradar.

alex_heney,

It's normally used on that route too.

Thanks Darren,

That's good to know - an extra inch or two width makes more difference to me than pitch, given I have short legs :)

Ah, I think you have solved the mystery. I have been told by TC that my flight from Gatwick to Goa next December is on a A332, which I guess is A330 - 200.

And from your post above, they are moving to a 2 - 4 - 2 layout.

I have been allocated 3A and 3C which I have been assured are together. Can't pin down a seat plan though.

Mobor One,

They haven't released a seat plan as yet as far as I know. It's an all economy layout with 2-4-2 throughout. Seats A/C are together, there's no B seat. It's similar to that of the Boeing 767-300 to give you an idea of what it'll be like, but row numbers won't be accurate.

Thanks Darren. I would have thought they kept seat B and got rid of C, but I suppose there must be some aviation reason why they kept A and C!!

Hi

Dazbo, is the A330 that is featured in the youtube video the ex BMI plane Thomas cook acquired last year?

Thanks
Anthony

Seat A is always a window seat and seat C is an aisle seat throughout the aircraft.

Hi Darren

Regarding seat layouts. Is the assumption that all planes are 3 - 4 - 3, ie abc defg hij

And depending on the actual configuration, a and J are always windows and c d g and h are always aisles?

Apologies if I'm sounding dim, but quite interested to know the reasoning.

A lot of planes are not teh wide body type, and have only 3-3 config. Those are abc - def

But again, when there are some 2-2 where the fuselage narrows, they will be ac - df

Mobor One,

Aircraft configurations vary greatly based on aircraft type and the interiors airlines install in them. For example, the Airbus A330-200 commonly have a 2-4-2 configuration in economy, but some carriers like TCX and Monarch fit 3-3-3 in them, the exception being the ex-Bmi that still has the 2-4-2. It's difficult to generalise as there are lots of different aircraft types.

Hello
I have just booked a Thomas cook holiday to Turkey on 30th May. I thought it was TC flights until I tried to book seats and then realised its a monarch flight number ZB 826 and ZB 827

I have a couple of questions!
Does this now mean I am unable to book seats at all or can I book with monarch? The same with online check in??
Also, if I wanted extras like ordering a bottle of champagne on board (hubbies 50th the day we fly) who do I book, or even can I??

Feel a bit cheated if I cannot do any of the above!!! That's why I booked with Thomas Cook!!

Sorry for so many questions

Thanks

Right at the start of the booking process it tells you which airline the holiday is on.

Thomas Cook will only send their manifest to Monarch about a week prior to departure. If you contact Monarch then you may be able to choose seats and add champagne. You won't be able to check in online.
