Many thanks on that, I will look up the config and try and work out my seat,
Hi guys, please could someone advise me how I can check in online with Thomas Cook. Their website is a flipping nightmare.Anyone managed to check in online? I booked with Direct Holidays and they don't recognize my booking ref at TC. To buy your seat your choice I managed to log on using our flight number but it won't accept it for online check in. I am pulling my hair out. Thanks in advance. Sorry if I should have posted under Thomas Cook in airlines forum but thought I might stand a better chance of a reply here!
Moved and merged to existing TC topic in flights section.
Thanks Mark.

I really need some help/info and came across this forum, hope some of you will be able to shed some light on our situation!
I am flying to Tenerife on Sun (TCX193K) from Stansted with my fella and our 2 1/2 year old son.
Upon reading the tickets last night we noticed that the hand baggage allowance seems exceptionally small, even compared to other airlines.
On their website it says: 'You are allowed one piece of hand baggage only which must not exceed 5 kg in weight or 43 cm x 28 cm x 23 cm in size. One piece of hand baggage includes handbags, laptops etc, anyone carrying any more than one piece of hand baggage will be referred back to check-in.'
This suggests that if I take a handbag that will be all I can take, is this correct?
Most disappointing is that we bought our son a Trunki, according to the website the dimensions for Trunki are: 46x32x21. So am I right that our son won't be able to use his Trunki?

Anyone else had issues with hand baggage? I have even looked through the argos catalogue and there are only 1 or 2 luggage bags that seem to fit the Thomas Cook hand baggage criteria!
Welcome onboard

Thomas Cooks hand baggage allowance is the same as the majority of the charter airlines, and limited to one piece per person. You can take a hand bag, but it should be placed inside the main piece of hand luggage. Having said that, you have to be realistic. A small hand bag is fine as a second item. It's when passengers arrive with a couple of large bags where issues arrise. This is due to limited space and weight allowance in overhead storage areas onboard the aircraft. If a limit wasn't set, the cabin would be stuffed with bags! Thomas Cook are very strict on baggage alloance so make sure you don't exceed weight limits or you'll be charged for excess baggage.

Any time I've flown with TC, I've always had my 5kg of hand luggage plus my hand bag, and never had any problems at check in.

Does it seem likely that we could get away with the trunki?
I only live up the road from the airport so thought about taking a trip up there today to get more info.
Thanks again for the info! It's been a while since I took a charter flight

Welcome back Dazbo. Hope you had good flights? I know you love your planes!
Im flying to Gran Canaria this Saturday from BHX, on flight TCX405K , And returning on TCX405L, just wondering any ideas on what aircraft it is planned to be, i know 752 but anyone know the reg?
Thanks
Adam
It is too early to be able to tell the specific reg yet. We would be able to answer your query better on friday.

Oh ok, thank you for the quick reply
I am seriously stressed at this point. Am flying TCX025k 23/10/10 manchester to sanford and have been trying for last few days to do API but website wont let me.

Thanks
Just keep trying and if you have no joy, it'll be taken at check-in. It's a common problem with TCX's website. One thing you can try, drop the 0 from the flight number, try TCX25K. That might solve your problem.
Darren
can you give me the link again for the inflight mags for thomas cook? just want to see what films are on this month thanks

TCX change their IFE every 3 months so the current issue is August, covering Aug / Sept / Oct.
