Hi
we are booked on tcx 025k flying from man 23/10 at 12.15pm. keeping an eye on the flights over the last 6 weeks or so it seems that the only flight leaving man at that time is tcx 473k. Tickets say its tcx 025k but am worried as flight not showing from man but from glasgow with that flight number. can you shed any light on this?

Jonouk1211,

MAN-POP-MAN (TCX062K/L) are operated by an Airbus A330-200.
TFS-MAN (TCX341L) should be operated by a Boeing 757-200.

Further aircraft information is on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Your flight is operating, don't worry! Flight numbers sometimes change.

Just wondering if anyone can shed light on TCX 507K BHX-DLM today (23/10/10). After taking off on-time, it appears to have taken an about-turn over Stuttgart and returned to MAN? Concious of the TCX maintenence hub at MAN, what tech problem caused the u-turn. Are the passengers back on their way? Which aircraft has developed the problem? What are the knock-on effects?

Thanks

Fergmeister,

G-JMCE I beleive operated TCX507K/L on the 23rd October. I can't tell you what the probem was. For general aviation enquiries, you might be better over on Airliners.net.

We are due to fly to Barbados with Thomas Cook on flight TCX35 early next year. What plane do they use and what is the seating configuration for Premium Plus, please?

John Gibson,

Welcome onboard.

TCX035K/L are operated by an Airbus A330-200. They don't offer a Premium Plus cabin, it's a Premium Economy cabin. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Hi

Returned from trip to LAS on TCX043k and TCX043L. Flights from Manchester and return were really good (for Thomas Cook). Both were on time, leg room was good, probably better than any other transatlantic flights we have been on (BA, US, Delta, Virgin, BMI). Crew were good on outward flight and excellent on return - very friendly and, unlike many night flights across the atlantic, they worked hard all the way through the flight.

Two niggles. One is the IFE which, for a long haul flight was very poor indeed. We flew Thomson to Cyprus earlier in the year and the IFE on that plane was much superior to TCX with games and a range of films etc. Second niggle is the food. I cannot complain about the quality but, as a diabetic what I was given was an insult and lacked any kind of imagination at all. Breakfast on return was an apple and a banana with nothing to cut the rock solid apple to be able to eat it. They seem to think that they can satisfy providing a diabetic meal by giving fruit!!!!

Would travel with them again but they need to improve their IFE

The downstairs toilets were great - a place to chat with crew and other passengers. Also gave more room upstairs to move around and stand.

There was a technical problem with one of the engine temperature indications. Rather than carry on to DLM they went to MAN to have it checked out. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply to TCX35. However, I cannot find a reference to Airbus 300-200 in the Thomas Cook section. Did you mean Airbus 320-200 perhaps?
Thanks.

No, Airbus A330-200. It's under the long haul section of Thomas Cook on our What Aircraft? guide.

Jonouk1211,

MAN-TFS-MAN (TCX470K/L) should be a Boeing 767-300/ER, possibly a 757-200.

Welcome onboard ;tup

Please supply dates of travel when requesting aircraft information. TCX178K/703L will be operated by either Boeing 757-200 or 767-300/ER. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Just returned to Gatwick, from Cancun, today on TCX41L after departing on 12 October on TCX41K. We had Premium seats and we were disapointed at the penny pinching TC have engaged in.

OK, we know that from May 1, this section will no longer exist but at the moment, apart from larger seats, priority book-in and silver plastic cutlery, what else do you get?

Last time we travelled Premium you could get drinks all through the flight but, this time, on the outward leg (10.5 hrs) there were only three drinks services and, you were allowed only one drink each time.

.....choice of meal, pre flight drinks, more choice of films (on some aircraft), magazines, newspapers, priority boarding, priority loaded luggage, more luggage allowance (30kgs)....

If you drank the plane dry on the outward, there would be no drinks for the inbound passengers, so yes you need to be rationed of sorts..........is there really a need to drink heavily on a flight??, it affects you 3 x more than on the ground!! :think
