Hi Darren,

Noticed you mention you have noise cancelling headphones that you use on flights. I also dislike the airline supplied set and the same goes for iPod buds, as they let in so much engine noise and I'm looking at noise cancelling options or normal "on ear" closed back headphones that cut out most external noise .

Just wondered what set you use ?

Crockett,

I have a set of Panasonic RP-HT225 full size headphones that are pretty good, but they aren't noise cancelling. These are now my reserves. I use Tevion PH2101 noise cancelling headphones. They aren't expensive ones but do the trick and the fold in to a small travel pouch so perfect for going in hand luggage. You need a 2 pin adaprer for them but many come suppled with them.

Jay Trip,

Do you know what the flight number is? TCX414K/L presumably? They're operated by a Boeing 757-200.

Hi Darren,The flight number I have from agents is 719K and 719L.
I have had trouble trying to enter the API details as its saying this is not a recognised flight number :que
If its the flight number you are quoting maybe they have given me the wrong one!
Typical of Thomas Cook.
I will ring Thomas Cook airlines tomorrow to confirm the number.
Merseygull,The flights are both daytime flights so they wont have to wake me for the meals :rofl
I could not resist a bargain so will have to travel cattle class again.
I am surprised they let me book one of their holidays as it must be on my file about my complaints!
:whoops Sorry to have gone :offtop

Thanks Mike,I have managed to put the API details in tonight and they accepted 719K & 719L.
Pity its not a larger plane as 5 hours is a bit to long to be squashed :rofl

We are travelling on a TC airbus 330-200 to Acapulco which is a 3-3-3 configuration except the last few rows which are 2-3-2. Has anyone used the double seats where the body of the plane curves inwards? I'm just wondering if the legroom is less in these seats due to the different angle shown on the seat plans? I've tried Seatguru but they don't do TC planes.
Would appreciate any help.

I've booked the 2-3-2 seats for when we travel to Cancun in 4 weeks time and a friend who also booked them returns on Monday 29th Nov, so I'll get feedback then. As far as I know they have the full 33" pitch and you have a much wider aisle next to you, so more of a spacious feel. That 3-3-3 configuration is rather strange as it suits neither couples or the "average" family of 4.

Be aware that..
a. the "2" seat rows are a popular option and seem to get pre-booked very quickly
b. the first row (37 I think) has the TV stowed in the armrest, not in the seat back in front. Not sure if that's good or bad, but my buddy will report back as he's in that row.

nedbowler,

I've flown on several A330/A340's on the pairs of seats towards the rear. They're ideal if you're travelling as a couple and as Crockett mentions, they're popular and get booked up quickly. Seat pitch and facilities are exactly the same as the other seats apart from the first row of 2-3-2 (row 37) where the outer seats have a small amount (and I'll emphasise small amount) of extra room as they're at a slight angle to those infront.

Not sure where you get this info from, the screens are all in the seat back (all the 2's) APART from EXIT rows 9 and 30.

It is expected Thomas Cook are to return three of their current Airbus A330-200's, the original Thomas Cook Airlines ships (G-OJMB/C & G-TCXA) when their current lease expires in November 2011. The ex My Travel A332's (G-OMYT, G-MDBD & G-MLJL) will remain for long haul operations.

Is it still too early to know where the Gatwick to Goa (Friday) flight will have come in from, and the flight number of the incoming flight?
Due to travel on 10th December.
Many thanks

Mobor One,

Please quote flight numbers when requesting aircraft information, saves us having to dig them out. Is it TCX049K/L? There isn't a clear flight number that I can see before it and it's changed weekly so far this month.
